Axelar Solana bridge
Solana-side integration for Axelar's General Message Passing network — SVM programs for message verification, token bridging, and GMP relay, with off-chain relayer and prover components.
CompletedOverview
Equilibrium implemented the Solana-side integration for Axelar’s General Message Passing (GMP) interoperability network. The work was a suite of Rust SVM programs — message verification, canonical token bridging, governance, and multicall execution — together with off-chain relayer and prover components that drive cross-chain message flow. The core design problem was the security-critical boundary between Solana’s high-throughput runtime and Axelar’s external consensus and proof system.
Deliverables
- Rust SVM programs: message verification, canonical token bridge, governance, multicall execution.
- Off-chain relayer and prover components.
- Deployment and upgrade CLI tooling, contributed to
axelar-contract-deployments. - Devnet infrastructure and testing (
devnet-amplifiervia Terragrunt, with CI/CD).
Technical highlights
- Signature verification and state machines implemented in onchain Solana programs.
- The security-critical boundary between the Solana runtime and Axelar’s external consensus/proof system.
- Deploy and upgrade commands contributed upstream to
axelar-contract-deployments.
Audits
The bridge stack was built to be audit-ready and underwent external, third-party security audits during the engagement.
